A "safe" Ubuntu update decided to fuck with my AMD drivers and after rebooting, a nostalgic black emergency terminal greeted me with some cryptic message containing hex code as if any mortal user could make sense of it.

To add insult to injury, local mirrors don't have 18.04 which makes apt vomit errors during software installation.

How the hell does the most well known distro out there manage to have problems like that?

    @Null-Device Well yes but it can surely be influenced to a certain degree (for example I've never experienced the same issues with Mint)

    Local mirrors dont have 18.04? That is not canonicals fault

    @Linux Yes this particular issue is the fault of the mirrors.

    This is the exact reason I forever dumped Ubuntu many years ago and never looked back.

    It's even worse that there is no easy way to go about fiddling in low level system stuff to attempt to fix it, as Ubuntu is trying to be a user friendly dist (I couldn't even switch TTYs).

    @Linux Yeah, that's why I use Windows, so I can blame all of its problems on Microsoft themselves rather than having the blame kicked around like that.

    @credibleWanker

    Actually, that was a really good point
