I just discovered electronjs and absolutely love it, even found that my fav ide vscode is build using electron on nodejs.

    So there performance issues with electron apps are real, I thought if vscode can run fast everything else must too 😂

    Electron is good if you want a veeeery thin client that looks pretty. For everything else, please at least learn qt.

    @http418 vscode kinda doesn't run fast. Compared to native ones. You won't notice the difference with 16 gigs of ram. Try running vscode on 4gigs and watch the system scream

    @hashedram I have a 4gb of ram laptop with Pentium and VS Code runs fast.

    @AL1L Perhaps relatively, but native is consistently faster. Try something like Sublime text and compare the startup times.

    @hashedram perhaps thats why vscode strangely runs slow on my old laptop with 3gb of ram, will try sublime
