I agree. Based on the fact Bitcoin went from nearly $20k USD to like $6.6k today, it was obviously a trendy buzzword with a lot of hype around it.

@Haxk20 that is, sadly, a problem with cryptocurrencies. As I understand it, a major thrust of modern economics has been the prediction and mitigation of problems with the economy (eg. economic depression). Control of certain factors such as key interest rates and reserve ratios is essential for that sort of stuff. Cryptocurrency's basic design makes that kind of regulation very, very difficult. And even if the government is shady or corrupt, it's in everybody's interest to prevent an economic depression.

Also, I'm pretty sure that you wouldn't want to build your economic base on top of a currency that exhibits such high variance (20k to 6k for BTC? Wow.) in the international market - unless you have very good ways of mitigating problems arising due to that (eg. how will you handle your country's imports when your currency suddenly becomes 1/3 of its previous value?)

Not saying that this is everything, but, yeah, the issue just isn't that simple.

@Haxk20 cryptocurrencies are not nearly as "anonymous" as those who use it want it to be believed.

There are numerous reasons why the majority of infosec professional hate cryptocurrency. It's a pump and dump scheme.

Blockchain technology could be cool if it's done right and improved upon. But cryptocurrencies are fucking stupid. I'm all for disrupting the status quo but... meh on the bitcoins.

Anyone who has an interest in participating in the future should at minimum understand the basic technical foundation of Blockchain and have an idea of potential applications — preferably taking an active interest in the field.

Hi there. I'm new to this forum, so excuse me if I am doing something wrong. I have recently started to trade, but I wanted to know if there is still time to learn. Also, is trading as a career still relevant? Does anyone know where to start?
