The SSD I installed into my parent's computer is stuck to the side of the case with some 3M tape.

So I'm going with genius.

When I started bon the company I was told some stories of mishaps ;)

One if them was a customer that came in curious about the HDD tray.

One if my colleagues had done something similar to mount a 3.5 “ HDD in a 5.25” slot using steel wire because we had no insets available.

Apparently the customer was adding a second HDD and found it.

And he did not buy that it was shock absorbent ;)

Well in theory you can pretty much just plug in a ssd, toss it in and close the case.
