Articles 13 and 11 pass exactly during the world cup, so news channels won't report on it coz they're too busy showing Ronaldo's goal for the 376th time

It's not the first time this happens, they tried this several times in Germany and failed. Miserably. Now they succeeded once.

Oh and of course they do something like that everytime when world cup is ongoing...

There is always a reason to complain and share conspiracy theories when important law is being passed. Just 20 guys kicking a ball with 2 catching it - is what got all the people hooked on. This is the real scandal.

The legislation has been going on for months and noone bat an eye. That would have been the time to do something, not now, when it's almost too late. Also the media is too busy talking about refugees and Trump to actually care about the internet

Did they pass though? I was under the impression that they were just accepted for consideration and the EU perliament wouldn't make a desicion for a few more months.

iT DIDNT GET PASSED WHY IS EVERYONE BLIND AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

@Proximyst the fact the European parliament even considers voting on it is bad enough already though, is it?

Besides, look at ACTA(2012), VDS(2008,2014,2016). Let's put PAG(2018) onto the list to, even though it was not a national law(only in some parts on Germany, most prominently Bavaria) . Funny how any unconstitutional laws seem to be voted on in even years round these parts...

And yes, the media are absolutely responsible for not reporting on it. The old world media still see the internet as competition though (now everyone can spread bullshit, their monopoly is in danger), so no wonder they don't.

Don't mistake criticism for conspiracy theories. It's any democrats duty to be sceptical of their government.

@ilPinguino Not really. It was up for what, 35 people to first decide. Now it's up to 751 to change it

@Proximyst And I hope they do change it.

All I wanted to say is that article 13 is/was a bad decision. If it goes through - let's hope it doesn't - it's gonna cause lots of issues.

Don't get me wrong, the EU itself is doing a good job in many aspects. After all, it's entirely up to the individual member states as to how those EU decisions are put into practice.

Also, I think that the EU's method of discussing and voting about problems is a serious step forward from having a war literally every decade as it was in previous centuries. After all, we forget that we haven't had a war in Europe for almost a decade now - chalk that one up to Brussels.

I rest my case on the media though. They should report more openly about politics, tech and science instead of showing "Big Brother" and those braindead casting shows and soaps. But as always, there's two sides of the "market" to blame - those who make the crap and those who watch it.
