Best decision ever was to have my phone muted all the time. My overall stress levels went down significantly. I encourage you to try the same. At first is kinda weird as you actually miss the fuss o having your phone vibrating or ringing all the time, but then all you have is peace.

Lol I don't have friends that talk enough to justify muting it. Fucker barely even vibratea.

Oh, I muted my phone all the time, now I'm sometimes imagining my notification lamp blinking although there was no blinking and no notification, or sometimes I feel my phone vibrating although nothing vibrated, so for me it got worse.

I have to physically put my phone out of sight and out of reach so I can stop thinking about it, it's.. kinda annoying I guess.

This is real. I removed the email sync and chat notifications last year. Within a few weeks, I stopped to feel anxious about my phone.

I do a similar thing, you’ll want to set it so, you do accept certain numbers

But it’s sooo much better living on the edge expecting a call 😂

@cave That goes away after a while (few months for me).

I always forget to *unmute* my phone... But I never get any urgent notifications anyway :/

I sorted my notifications into "always unimportant" (most stuff, does a little beep) and "potentially important" (rare, makes a louder and longer sound). When I listen to music I don't even hear the little beep and when I have things to do, I completely ignore it. But I hear the other sound, I pick up the phone and check if it's important.

I still have Facebook because family, but I began with even uninstalling the app from the phone, and just using the message app.

Peace, it came again into my life.

Some years ago I decided I disliked being beholden to my phone, and turned off all audible notifications. Since I tend to look at my phone every 20 or 30 minutes anyway, I'll still catch what people are saying.

At night, you will not get in touch with me for anything. If someone dies, I will find out when I wake up. I am not the person to call when you need someone to pick you up at the police station.

I did this years ago. Phone is on mute permanently since then with every notification eliminated. I absolutely hate notifications, I will check my phone when I feel like doing so and don't need it to beg for attention by itself.
