In the name of the goddess of code: It depends. :^)
If you play a game that requires a high amount of DPI then yes, a good gaming mouse is worth it. If you're playing something more casual than a normal mouse will suffice IMO. -
No, for me most of the mice available are way to small to fit in my hands. Gaming mice are all way to small for me.
-
@Codex404 yeah, I don't know what they make mice so freaking small these days. I miss those bulky PS/2 ones.

@hashedram get something with good ergonomics. And that depends on you so try a lot of stuff out. If it's a "work" mouse, then sure, why not.
Please don't go for a mouse because it has fancy LEDs or an insane DPI count. -
I used a Logitech G9 for a decade, until it finally had enough of the abuse, now abusing a G502.
I can not use other mice. Not because they're gaming mice, have rgb leds, or have good dpi... just because the weight and size is perfect. -
I don't use a mouse when developing
Vim + qutebrowser + xmonad
For gaming I do use a gaming mouse and it makes a difference. -
jerodev5666yI used to have a Logitech G9 which sadly they don't make anymore. The mx master is the closest match to that one and I can strongly recommend it!

Avyiel10716yCurrently use a Razer Naga Epic. I have big hand, and it fits perfectly. Plus, it has a support for your ring finger. Most comfortable thing evah
