    I never understood why one has to update the updater before updating unless it's a major change to the updater.

    Which never happens for Visual Studio (AFAIK).

    @ChrRubin yes the made some major changes, they added the option the pause and resume the install, they added to option to change install path, and they introduced other tweak and improvements that i don't remember now
