This just confused me a lot. I thought I knew all songs of this entire album but apparently I didn’t. Found it weird that Spotify would give such an error but still 😆

    If you play it on shuffle it still wont allways play every song before starting over ;)

    For some reason I'd never expect you to use Spotify. Idk what I thought you'd use, but it wasn't Spotify lol

    Edit: I definitely expected you to use YouTube music or Google play music lmao

    @linuxxx I just torrent to discover music and then buy what I like at the record store, mostly because I find both the idea of some company knowing all the music I like, and the idea of buying an album without having listened to it in its entirety completely absurd.

    Also, leaked albums are usually online before the official release, so if I like it, I can grab it right on Friday when it's released in the record store :D

    But I'm interested in how your alternative is supposed to work.

    @kenogo Cronjobs with YouTube-dl scripts :)

    @linuxxx This is a cool idea. I think way too much music I listen to isn't on YouTube for that to be a way of doing things for me (also YouTube compresses too much for my taste), but I can imagine a lot of people enjoying that!

    @kenogo Finding a good open source media streaming service with proper ssl support is hell though 😬

    @linuxxx two things I have in mind are sonerezh and ampache, but AFAIK both lack a client which can download sons friend offline use

    But it seems like ampache has a lot of supported APIs and therefore a lot of available clients

    @kenogo Bandcamp is cool though. And being there helps you discover artists and bands you wouldn't have found otherwise because they're underground and not very popular.l

    @YousifMansour Oh yes I hang around a lot on Bandcamp, too. I also love that, for many artists, you can decide how much to pay yourself. However, Bandcamp doesn't have the stuff that got officially released under a music label. It's a cool website, just like Soundcloud, but not really an alternative to Spotify.

    @kenogo yeah definitely not like Spotify, you're supposed to eventually buy the music.
    But it's better than SoundCloud imo because it's not filled with as much crap.

    Also, as compared to other plwtofrms I think more goes to the artist.
    Anyway, supporting things you like financially is always preferred if possible.

    @linuxxx no need to develop your own thingy, take a look at Airsonic a fork of Libresonic, which is a fork of Subsonic

    @linuxxx I run it on a Raspberry Pi 3 B with 500GB external HDD, home-made power bank and a portable speaker so I can carry my music everywhere I go. It will create an AP if it can't find any known wireless networks and I control it using the Subsonic app(either in streaming or jukebox mode), the web interface(for adding more music and editing tags) and SSH(for controlling the alsa equalizer and mixer when using it in jukebox mode)
