    Lol that's a new one. Usually, we have drunk texting,

    Now, we have DRUNK RANTING!!!

    ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
  • 6
    @S-Homles welcome to 80% of my rants... I'm not an alcoholic I swear
  • 2
    @lxmcf no worries. A friend of mine used to do drunk painting. And we all have a good laugh the next day
    ๐Ÿ˜‚
  • 2
    @S-Homles well I'm 9 pints down so give me 10 minutes and horribly spelt rants will be abundant
  • 3
    @lxmcf Bring it on!!!! It's 11am here, and work is progressing slowly, so this is going to brighten my day :D

    Whatcha drinking?
  • 2
    @oudalally just beer at the moment, would be on whiskey or tequila shots but I don't want to die tonight
  • 2
    @lxmcf yeah, I'd stick to beer after 9 pints... not worth the inevitable misery if you switch.

    Whats your beer of choice?

    I'm guessing as an Aussie, it's not gonna be Fosters ;)
  • 2
    @oudalally well I'm Aussie so I go for VB or great northen but when I'm on my own i stick with Coors
  • 1
    @lxmcf Coors? Fuck me mate, like your beer with no taste eh?
  • 1
    @oudalally I'll be honest I love it, it may be weak but I can down a 6 pack before I feel it haha

    Or I'll go a Somersby pear cider or Merc hard cider depending hown I'm feeling
  • 2
    @lxmcf @oudalally as a German I have never heard of any of those beer brands, can they even be good?
  • 1
    @jonii no not at all haha, VB is super tough, great northern is weak and Coors is just meh and boring
  • 1
    @oudalally when it comes to beer, mine's a Budd, or Heineken. ๐Ÿ˜‚ but I prefer cold sake above all ๐Ÿ˜‰
  • 1
    @S-Homles Budd? Budd?! How dare you sir!
  • 3
    @jonii VB is alright, although I've only had it in the uk, and I'm not certain it travels very well.

    Coors is basically a piss coloured flavoured water with a bit of fizz to it. It's marketed as the worlds most refreshing beer, which makes sense as a nice cold glass of water on a hot day really is refreshing...
  • 1
    @oudalally 110% correct, VB really doesn't travel well, come to Australia Victoria and get it on tap, you'll understand and Coors is really refreshing but it's essentially homebrew water.
  • 1
    @lxmcf now you made me thinking of Seymore Budd ๐Ÿ˜‚
  • 2
    @oudalally ok.. guess I should travel more/try more beer while travelling

    Heineken is a great choice, eventhough my favorite is Astra (kinda obvious)
  • 1
    @S-Homles filthy! Aussie beer is the greatest, you know nothing
  • 1
    @jonii and yeah Heineken is a middle point
  • 1
    @lxmcf been there, bub. The banana country a couple of years. One of the best years of my life ๐Ÿ˜€
  • 1
    @S-Homles Australia is the place to be!
  • 1
    Anyone interested in beer talk I apologize, playing pool so see you in 10 years
  • 2
    @lxmcf I'd rather travel for the 22hours to get there to drink VB on tap than drink one single glass of coors.

    Even if you offered it to me from the golden chalice of heaven itself served from between the heaving bosom of a buxom wench, I still would rather brave a 22hour session in a tube of farts and flu than touch the stuff!!!

    Coors is basically water ruined with a headache to follow ;)

    I would like to try VB on tap tho, it's been recommended to me before by an Aussie whose choice of beers is absolutely impeccable.

    Chances are I won't be flying over there tho, sadly. Bit of a mission and I've got a wife and 2 young kids so can't really go galavanting.
  • 1
    @oudalally well honestly if you come to Victoria for what ever reason, I'll shout you a few pints of VB and a couple games of pool
  • 1
    @lxmcf You're on. Just keep the giant spiders well clear of me and I'l be happy.

    Seriously, how would anybody cope there as an arachnophobe? I get that huntmans aren't dangerous really, but fucking hell, they're massive!!!!
  • 1
    @oudalally it's no where near as bad as people think
  • 2
    @lxmcf Well, this headline makes me think twice.....

    https://bulawayo24.com/index-id-new...

    "An Australian man has been bitten by a venomous spider on the penis for a second time.

    According to BBC, incident happened while the 21-year-old tradesman was using a portable toilet on a Sydney building site.

    The man told the publication that the spider bit him on "pretty much the same spot" as before.

    "I'm the most unlucky guy in the country at the moment," he told the BBC."
  • 2
    @oudalally ... Bad luck?
  • 3
    @oudalally bitten by a bug, got swollen and BBC. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
  • 3
    @lxmcf It doesn't say what spider it was, but I suspect it's not a widow or a redback....

    White tailed spiders look pretty insane. Similar cephalothorax shape to segestria florentina which we seem to have an abundance of in the uk at the moment. Not a fan of them, the bite is pretty nasty.
  • 2
    Too guys I'm new here some one to teach
  • 2
    @SpyECho Welcome, please pull up a chair.

    Todays lecture covers beer from around the world, and spiders.
  • 1
    Thanks, ok
  • 2
    @SpyECho beer = good
  • 1
    @lxmcf I have not tried it before๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
  • 2
    @lxmcf ....not all beer is good....
  • 1
  • 2
    @SpyECho Indeed! Not all beer is created equal. Beer when brewed properly can be a wonderful thing, but as with most products, large scale manufacturing can have a negative effect on quality.

    There are many beers which are brewed in huge amounts, and carbonated to add the fizz which really does miss the point a little.

    The quality of the hops, the amount of malt and the way the mash is prepared all add to the flavour.

    Also, the quality of the water is a big part of the flavour of a beer. Some companies have breweries in different places, and the beer tastes different as a result, just because of the water.

    If you just want to get drunk, anything with alcohol in it will do the job, but if you want to enjoy the process, there is a huge variety of flavour in a decent beer :)
  • 1
    @oudalally Well what beer are you prefer I mean the name of the product
  • 2
    @SpyECho @oudalally just a heads up I'm 15 pints down and about to grab more grog in the way home so I'm sorry in advance
  • 3
    @SpyECho The beers I favour are usually made in small scale breweries, and I tend to stick with local ones.

    We have a very good brewery near to us which has been operating for well over 400 years. They make a large range of different beers but of all of them, I prefer golden ales. They tend to have a slightly fruity flavour to them, and they're not too sweet on the whole.

    In terms of commercial mass produced beers, in the uk I tend to stick with Czech pilsners. They're quite peppery, slightly bitter and usually pretty light.

    I must add a note of caution here - as I don't know how old you are or where you live, I'd be careful with drinking if you're under age or live in a country where it's prohibited.

    Many predominantly Muslim countries have strict punishments for drinking alcohol, and even if it's allowed, drinking underage can lead to criminal charges, and drinking too young can lead to long term health problems.

    Don't delete your account like @Condor did ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
  • 1
    @lxmcf If it's coors though, it's really more like 7 pints ;)
  • 6
    @jonii Heineken is piss.. shit doesn't even get you drunk after a few glasses.. worthless! Try Jupiler if you're into light beers or Duvel / Gouden Carolus Maneblusser or Tripel if you're into the heavier ones.

    @lxmcf keep us updated mate ๐Ÿ˜

    @CozyPlanes yeah having to recover everything kinda sucks.. it's much faster than before now (thanks everyone ๐Ÿค—) but yeah recovery time from what drunken fool me deleted that night kinda makes me feel like "why?"
    So yeah don't press that button ๐Ÿ˜…

    And I'm also not an alcoholic, I swear ๐Ÿ˜‚
  • 2
    @Condor if I want heavy alcohol I can drink schnaps lol
  • 3
    @Condor All these beers mentioned, but as @AlexDeLarge can attest, you should never overlook a good whiskey!
  • 1
    @oudalally 100% can confirm
  • 5
    @oudalally actually I'm gonna have to look for something heavy for tonight this afternoon.. any particular whiskeys that you'd recommend? ๐Ÿ™‚
  • 2
    @Condor johny Walker double black all th way, have it on the rocks and it's perfect
  • 2
    @Condor I'm a big fan of the Speyside single malts.

    Not sure how many are sold in Belgium over the counter I'm afraid, but Tamnavulin is rather good, as are the various Balvennie range. Pricey though.

    Jameson is a decent drop if you favour Irish over scotch.

    Afraid I have no clue with bourbon though.

    A friend of mine is coming over later having just got back to the Uk and has brought with him some Canadian whiskey which I'm quite intrigued to try.

    Not sure if he's bringing it tonight, but he is definitely bring a flask fishing tomorrow so will report back :)
  • 6
    @lxmcf Johnny Walker Black looks good, and a local store here seems to sell them too. Will try it out!
  • 1
    @Condor no no no, not black, get double black, black is shit asz double may cost more but trust me after double black on the rocks you'll never go back
  • 5
    @lxmcf €40 though ๐Ÿ˜ฐ and I'd have to travel for hours just to get one!
  • 2
    @Condor 40€?! The most expensive alcohol I buy would be Bombay Gin for like 20€ and that's for rare occasions! Usually it's a bottle of my fav 5€ schnaps.

    But also I'm chronically broke, so..
  • 1
    @Condor im saving for a $200 aud bottle of johny, once you try it you'll be a new man I swear.

    It's all worth it as long as you don't touch johny Walker red or black
  • 5
    @jonii join the club ๐Ÿ˜…
    Personally I usually spend a similar amount on booze, with sometimes €10 bottles of London Dry Gin ๐Ÿค”.. having electronics as a hobby while unemployed doesn't really help for me I guess, haha. Anyway, if I just buy a bottle of that gin for the weekend I'd stay away from the Black (come to think of it, Moar blacker Moar better so saving for Double Black makes sense) and keep @lxmcf happy as well ๐Ÿ˜›
  • 2
    devvy thoughts, mmhmjmmMmmMm
  • 1
    Sagres...
    Sagres all the way.
    I prefer my beer bitter
  • 1
    @lxmcf JW? How bout JD? ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
  • 0
    @S-Homles bah JW > JD
  • 0
    @lxmcf I still prefer sake tho.. ๐Ÿ˜›
  • 1
    @S-Homles JD? Brilliant stuff. It'll clean up a gearbox beautifully!
  • 1
    @S-Homles A good sake is gorgeous! A lot of Japanese sake producers are now distilling whiskey too, and doing an incredibly good job of it.

    Some of the nicest whiskeys I've tried in a long time are Japanese.
  • 2
    *update*

    I'm alive!
    Craving a Macca's coke and iced coffee though
  • 0
    @lxmcf Grog!!! ๐Ÿ˜‚

    Classic though, but I guess not a huge deal when you're out with friends anyway.
