Being a backed developer is like being a spy. You are only known by your failures. You will never get to know a good backed developer or a good spy.

    It's true.

    The only recognition I get is when I do frontend crap, or when the actual frontend contractor is like "Thanks to @Root's hard work, I could implement all of this." Which ofc nobody else understands.

    His work is fancy and shiny and visible. Mine's just "that stuff that the database functions hook into" (or whatever other nonsense they come up with). They don't realize I'm basically rebuilding a sewer system inside a landfill and preventing all of the fetid sludge from leaking out onto their coveted shiny UI.

    It's a thankless job performed by unsung hero(in)?es.
