German train notifies me 8 minutes in advance that my train is cancelled.

Yeah, so useful, thanks...

(I know off-topic but I’m pretty pissed rn)

Ah, 8 minutes in advance. Here in Sweden our trains get canceled an hour after planned departure...

Didn’t know German trains can speak..
    German alien technology I guess.

But that’s why I usually take the car.

@bcye when a train is more than an hour late, it usually gets canceled. And that happens quite often.

@olback Maybe they just don't know. So they wait... And wait with the passengers until, well, there's no more hope.

Amateurs.... here in Dublin our real time info is only "a suggestion" which means that if it says your bus will be there in 5 minutes, it might be 5, or 1, or sometimes it disappears and the bus doesn't show up at all.

How is such system helpful you ask? Well it isn't. After years of struggle you learn to work with probability + environment sounds + weather observation to be able to tell if the real time info will be more or less accurate this time around.
