    @Frederick the boss was wrong. costs more short term, but you can get rid of a freelancer whenever.

    the non-profit shit is what gets me here. wtf kind of entrepreneurship is that? major red flag. start with supporting non-profits with your company than stimulate your personnel.

    It's confusing though, when people will code for nothing on open source projects.

    Of course, these projects are ones they use, or are passionate about. But, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

    So, it's pretty clear that devs will work for nothing. Yet, we are offended that we should work for minimum wage.

    I can see how that might be confusing to business people.

    People have become used to software, apps and services being free. So, God knows how they think they are developed.

    @Alice no it has to be equal or greater than the stated points

    @platypus I think at the very least the person involved can just drop or stop contributing the the open source, if you’re working with people, we need to do it whether we like it or not and face their horseshit too

    @1989 $60 perday in my country (which is a 3rd world) is kinda high too, but we need to look at where this coming from, and if this is from US, I don’t think it’s a really satisfying wage, as the cost of living there is probably quite high

    @1989 with this level of wage they (the company) probably just gonna prefer a local one maybe?

    @devTea I think this is US. This job is too shitty for a company of third world country to pay in dollars.

    As a person who lives in third-world country as well :(

    $20 per hour x 8 hours = 160
    160x20(business days) = 3200$

    You are easily in the %0.1 wealthiest part of the country which i live in. You can spend your life in luxury with that amount.

    @devTea I think there can be a lot of horseshit in open source as well. Fellow devs can be worse than PMs when in charge.

    Of course, much open source is actually developed by salaried teams. But, people outside the software business don't really understand the process. To them it's just free.

    @Alice @Frederick @SukMikeHok Nonono.
    5 years *at* Adobe.
  • 2
    @illegaldisease yeah, actually 3200$ a month is something I'll probably never see in my life

    @Alice
    I will try to screenshot the rest of the requirements that go into detail. This is just the stuff I could screenshot.

    I tried copy pasting their reqs but I hit Devrant's posting limit.

    @Alice @Frederick
    I think they want someone with 5 years experience in using Adobe Acrobat reader.
  • 1
    @Alice Adobe acrobat
  • 3
    @Kinky-Code @Alice

    At the moment I'm not at a computer to screenshot all the other reqs but they're asking for Adobe creative suite (CS5+).

    Made a follow up if you folks want to see the rest of their demands.

    @1989 minimum wage for this level is sad, I hope the company goes bankrupt or shit
  • 1
    5+ years experience in Adobe Reader
  • 2
    @mordax Are they taking the piss? Mastering the entire Adobe CS Suite takes you 5 - 10 years minimum.

    @Alice I'm taking a wild guess here and say that the actually wanted Apache Server and confused the names

    What's the heck does "Adobe" means? Adobe is company they need experience for what exactly? Knowing the company for 5 years?
