I have a Mac at work right now, and if/when it putters out, I would be fine with another, but not if it's the touch bar variety. In that case, I'll ask for a surface or a latitude(the options the company offers to the MacBook) and just hijack Linux onto it. I won't even ask if I can, because I'm sure the answer will be no.

Unfortunately, the company only offers three options, and that isn't one of them.

Iterm and Alfred are what give me pause.

From the 2017 model, the MBP is a big disappointment, and as much as I like using the OS, the hardware problems are enough to chase me away.

It feels like they're not interested in appealing to actual professionals, but rather people who want to look like professionals in a coffee shop.

I suppose, but the, "laptop in the coffee shop," aesthetic has been going on since long before millennials were adults.

Yeah, when millennials were still children.
