After seeing this "old" picture I want to let know at the guyz who are in love with AMD that before Ryzen(s) I was able to cook my fuckin' breakfast's eggs on their fuckin' CPUs.

Big mistakes brings to great solutions and shut up the fuck up AMD, probably your core code is full of vulnerabilities but no one cares about your ultra threads architecture.

Intel has "Hot" cpus too, both have their problems, but since ryzen, we get 6c12t (from both) cpus on the consumer desktops, and soon 8c16t cpus (from both).

And don't even look at the HEDT, intel is pretty fucked by epyc and TR.

@gathurian AMD is affected by some variance Spectre but not as bad as Intel. I think it maybe unaffected by meltdown though. It isn't perfect but it isn't getting the same performance hits on heavy threaded task.

I maybe a bit more of an AMD fan but that's because I bought shares of the company before ryzen. I hope they continue to climb.

First, your problem with a lack of FPS is very peculiar.

On the one hand, the ryzen should be a considerable upgrade above the ivybridge. And on the other hand, not.

Cinebench r15 is my scale in this case.

Sandy bridge single core score is around 145 when clocking 4->5 GHz
A E5 1650V1 (sandBridge) 6c12t oced to 5ghz, is as strong as a stock ryzen 5 1600. ~1100cb multi.

Ryzen is around 160 points single core, on the same level as haswell / Broadwell.

So it is performing comparably very well, though for gaming alone, it is and was clear from the start that intel still is the king with around 200 CB single core with kabby lake and especially coffe lake.

In your 1080p example, the GPU is way to fast for the CPU, hence your "bottlenecked"****** frame rate.

Intel has so many issues and requires so many workarounds...

But honestly, both companies' products are subject to lots of issues, some as severe (and moreso) than Spectre/Meltdown. Both also have hardware backdoors that allow unfettered system access, and these are likewise buggy and vulnerable.

Lack of competition is the real problem here. (And government meddling)

It's obfuscated, undocumented code with an unknown feature set that grants complete and unfettered system access. To explain the scope of that access, this includes all of ram and all hardware (therefore network hardware as well), and it runs outside the purview of the OS. Anything it does is completely invisible, and impossible to block.

It can run even while the system is off and cold (given a battery, at least) and cannot be disabled without the use of exploits.

Still think there's no such thing as hardware backdoors? It's basically a "god mode" and a black hat's wet dream. And yes, there have been many vulnerabilities found and exploited within it despite having zero visibility.

I find it rather debatable if those shortcomings deserve the name backdore.

For instance intel AMT is a remote management thing similar to the enterprise iPMi, aimed at easing the life the of the local Admin.

The anti theft features in the ME though, are the ones that nearly never get mentioned.

The ME is running a module, once activated by the owner, and registered with intel, it checks if you reported your device as stolen.
If yes, it turns into a nightmare.
It can basically do everything, including the obvious mic, and camera access and even taking a "poison pill" and kill itself

Basically the exact same thing as apples "find my Mac" feature set.
Besides the hughe nightmare ish implications, how could this be implemented better?
