Large comment block at the top of the file, commenting explicit line numbers, as in: "line 365: copy to a new image".
Only everytime the comment block grew, the line numbers got more and more off. -_-

@Yeah69 Oh you think? Just wait. The reason why all comments were in a block at the top, is that the whole function (2000 loc) was in a STRING, in the parameter of a GUI function "button" where you'd normally only have the name of the callback. The code in the string needed to escape all new lines with backslash, could have no empty lines (no backslash only, IIRC), and no comments. No syntax highlighting nor autoindent. Matlab code.
