Fortunately it's very rare for me to have such hardware failures.

@D-4got10-01 Yeah I seem to be rather lucky as well. While it's just an secondary backup disk for random stuff I could redownload, I've still got an HDD that's still alive and kicking pretty well after a small 15 years. :)

I've been meaning to sort it out, but priorities. It'll die one day and I won't be mad.

Very happy with that thing. I was always low on my vpses with just 4gb. Now I have 64gb and just don't come above 13gb memory usage and it runs a lot. Nice to finally know, 13gb, that's what I needed :p but dedicated was really way to go. Cheap, from hetzner. Total recommend.

@D-4got10-01 at least you got four disks. My laptop is mentioning disk issues from day one and still using it with no shame. I'm just very attached to the model and thus have three of them now.

@Lensflare haha, you're not a smoker for sure :p But regarding signs, I listen very well to my body regarding signals while having certain life style. I get very strong signals from French fries. Also, no teeth issues ever. But for some reason, I feel chocolate. OK, easy don't do it then. But that's the thing young man, a lot of people just keep doing it.

@donkulator why wouldn't you trust a hard-on. If even that is not included anymore...

@retoor The rest were an internal drive, a Flash Drive w/ recovery env., && something else I can't remember.

But the SDD is FUBAR. Got locked in read-only mode && even then the data is no longer recoverable.

Weird case, but whatever - picked up the replacement yesterday && I have a fresh installation of Manjaro, so all good.

@D-4got10-01 my friend swears by manjaro. But I think os hopping is over for me. I mean, I have literally no complaint about xubuntu. Only sad thing it's too nornii to live with and then @kiki talks about dwm and I considered that the elite one side it's small, pure c, and does not support lesser languages. It was actually great, but I dunno, I'm a hardcore terminal warrior, but somehow I do like to manage windows by mouse. Maybe I should invent something new. Like, there's just something wrong. If I can do keyboard with everything but not with that, I'm sure there's a solution to make. Move windows with arrows after shortcut in sense of north west soutg every tick ten %? Hmm. Nah, I already work hard enough for not money.
