Friday, I got a mail from my PM shortly before I wanted to leave. Basically it was, hey can you check out whether this issue [which I hadn't even heard about] is somehow related to our system? Meeting is in one hour.
My answer: I guess not, otherwise I'd have been in the loop much earlier than one hour before the meeting.
I shut down the PC like a boss and went into weekend.8 -
I didn't know any one of them, we just meet at the TADHack last week end. Because my team members apologies at the last moment, I joined one of them who forgot his laptop. The third came after five minutes asking "can I join"?
We established a team from three different backgrounds, and started the work. Each one built what he know, and we integrated all of it together.
Luckily, we won.... I enjoyed these weekend...

Weekend projects are fun! Although front end is still a challenge, it looks good enough.
Suddenly got the idea to do something with letsencrypt/nginx wildcard subdomains (*.example.com) so created a project around that now through which you can check what your ip address/user agent/operating system/ip version is (maybe more to come) but due to the wildcard part you can enter quite a number of subdomains which all show the related info.
I'd find it very useful myself, not sure if other people would but oh well!2 -

Most normal people will now be heading home before enjoying their weekend with alcohol and hopefully friends and family.
However I can get pissed on 2 bottles of cider. Friends are busy tonight and family is elsewhere.
So tonight will be spent on designing a side project drunk and tomorrow will be spent repeatedly saying "what the fuck" while reviewing it. Either something good or something terrible will happen. Wish me luck.8 -
I'm actually a Dev, mostly just a shell scripter who needs to support 500 servers which run our applications. I install the new versions and check whatever is wrong if there are customer issues.
One release weekend everything went wrong, Development had to make new builds on the fly with hardly any time for testing.
It took 18 hours with no break.
It was extremely hard to concentrate, but being in the Skype group with everyone and finally getting everything fixed was quite rewarding.
Everyone just opened a beer and we stayed on the call for about 30 more minutes just to relax.
I like our Dev team way better than I like my actual colleagues, who merely mess things up and call me for the smallest thing without even thinking.4 -

I just wrote a function that creates a configuration struct that is stored in a Singleton struct, but to create it I called the Singleton to get a connection to the database.
This created an infinite recursive function that maximized connections on the database, as the Singleton never got fully initialized. Not a good idea.
So to fix this I created the configuration after the creation of the Singleton, still calling the singleton from within the function. This worked.
Then I remembered that I could have just passed the connection as a parameter to the function. Like I've done a million times before...

Fucking hate my internet, ubisoft and steam regularly have a free weekend where a game can be played for free during the weekend. Currently The Crew 2 is free to play for this weekend. Its been downloading for 24 hours and its only at 23%. In my experience that means I can play it on Sunday evening for about two hours and have no internet the rest of the weekend.3

0830: Math exam at school
1005: Get on the public transportation

1130: Get started on setting up 8 new PC's

So far, I'm not a fan of Ubuntu touch on the pinephone. I think ill plan on switching to PostmarketOS this weekend. It looks more bare bones from what I've seen (admittedly not very much so far) but looks like it's for more features working. UBports has a ways to go yet.4

over a decade ago, I created a very simple php script, but because I was new to php, it took 2 months to code
I eventually sold half my interest in the business, and it was updated, upgraded, etc.
But now I have to clone it. And I have a weekend to do it. I've come a long way with my coding skills. I think it's possible.

Took my first PTO today since joining the new company to get my wisdom teeth extracted. Already took care of that first thing this morning. Now I actually get to kick back and listen to some records until my new GPU is delivered, and then I get to fuck off the rest of the weekend with new games because my wife says I can't do any yard work this weekend.
Only had the top two extracted because I was born without the bottoms I guess. But less pain on my wallet and my jaw, I'll happily trade in the narcotics they gave me and stick to my scotch.

Mondays aren't the best time for me.

Sleep most of the morning in, wake up - do things, 10PM, think of some code to work on. 11PM, yeah, enough energy now - lets code! -
MySQL docker container randomly just redeployed itself. Because he can.
The worst part is that it pulled the last mysql-percona image (5.7 strict mode by default plus more) and I cant revert it!!! looooool
And you know what its the best thing? is that today is friday!! Best weekend ever 10/10 would repeat again fixing sql's everyday2 -

Friday afternoon.
Close to finish a Task that took quite some time and research.
Loose connection to Server.Try some stuff.. Eh, okay restart.
Can't login. Windows account is banned. WTF?
Now I have to spend the whole weekend with this close to be solved problem in my head.. -
Installed a VM with ubuntu and syntaxnet. Did a little reading to scratch the surface on how to use it. Got my Stackoverflow rep from 1 to 60 by starting to help some people (I might be addicted now). Started learning python (again). Just to procrastinate working on the little portfolio of < 10 pages I had to hand in before 0:00 which I did.
I think I had a pretty productive weekend. -
