I sometimes come in a consumer electronics store to buy a cable, but one question and they will get ten people and still are not able to answer the question. In the meantime half an hour has passed and I give advice to customers after I heard them getting bad advice from the salesperson.
Like getting a PS4 for a 9 year who only has a small 5 year old tv. The salesman recommended the pro because it was way better than the slim while the slim had a 100 euro discount...
Or sometimes telling full out lies to make sales which I feel the need to correct. -
besplash486y@Codex404 I hate when I see people buying incredibly expensive Computers in stores instead of buying the components and building it themselves, but what can I do. The majority just doesn't know about that stuff and just need a working solution for them. Just lately I've also seen someone buying a copy of WinZip.

Condor323326yHad something like that a while ago where I went to a home improvement store to get some solder sucker (old one got its tip clogged, and I didn't know at the time that you can melt some solder and suck it in to unclog it).. Apparently it's a "specialist tool" that you can't possibly get in a home improvement store (that nonetheless sells cheap & crappy soldering irons). 4 employees were in that store at the time, and 3 of them didn't even know what it is and asked me to give them a picture from Google, and the fourth one told me that "specialist tool" thing. Needless to say, I decided to not visit that store anymore. Eventually I got my "specialist tool" from a different home improvement store though :)

Today in the tech store I asked an assistant where to find the CAT6 ethernet cables.
