Which Keyboard are you using?

I want to get a mechanical Keyboard, because I think I'd be faster typing with it. Especially because I use a lot of Keyboard-Shortcuts, my current one often 'hangs' and keys get stuck.

Especially I'm interested in the color of MX switches, if it matters..

I don't know if you're really faster with a mechanical keyboard, but it sure is more pleasant to type on and they can be pretty much indestructible.

I use MX brown switches because from the descriptions I thought I might like them and I haven't regretted it. Though I once tried clear switches and they seem really nice too.

Cherry MX 3.0 Brown Switch at work, Blue at home. (I had Blue as well at work, yet my colleagues intervened.)

    My recomendations:

If you are free to get on the nerves of your colleagues: MX Blue Switches. The noisy click is great feedback and you know when you pressed a key. (Some people detest gaming on these, I don't mind.)

If you want great feedback: MX Brown Switches. They have a good pressure curve, yet not as tactile as the blue ones. Solid gaming experience

If you want to game: MX Red Switches. To fuzzy for me when typing.

Mechanical keyboards aren't magic though. You won't get faster by them alone. You may reduce your error or you know sooner when you miss -pressed.

If you truly want to up your typing game, learn 10-finger systems.

You can also buy tester kits, e.g. google for: "Cherry Switch Tester Kit".

    Thanks, everyone !
special to @k0pernikus for details on the switches
@inaba I'm trying the Das Keyboard 4 ultimate as well now.

I like the switches, the fact that it is blank, which will force me to look at the screen instead of the keyboard.
And funfact: I'm finally using US keyboard layout, which is much more convenient because of all the mappings... for us Germans, there are 3 Umlauts to much

@dder Nice. I myself also switched the layout last year, but to the UK layout. I like it more than the US one. It's really nice for programming, especially for [] and {}.
