Fuck ubuntu 18.04 with their snap format. Yes it's good for things that ubuntu users need, like libreoffice or Chrome.

You don't need to install it as a snap.
And Canonical is not the maintainer of the app, Docker is ... I would suggest you take it up with them :D

@duetopain yes but in this scenario, someone in team installed it as it was "suggested" by ubuntu as new and shiny, but ofc. all problems that came with it stormed on the admin - me :)

The snap still uses aufs as well I just uninstall it and install the version from the socket repository. Tried a few distorts over the last week for docker. Resolved is a pain on Ubuntu could ping google but not a domain in cloudflare ffs. Alpine is great but I wanted to setup Gluster for the managers in a swarm network to store the Portainer config and think I will use that for workers. The RHEL based distros seem to have versions linked to Kubernetes
