So X410 supports hyperv sockets, kde plasma runs like real smooth over one, thought we were destined for laggy desktops forever

Just in case people weren’t aware you can get all syncfusions controls and reporting/data stuff for free under the same terms as the VS community license (ie you can sell anything you make) here https://syncfusion.com/products/...

Learning to like manjaro, a lot, setting up i3 for a workstation and kubernetes cluster with a couple of manjaro workstations with just the cli installed... few gotchas on the way, get Hyper-V enhanced mode working but get a message session error on dbus launch - easy fix it is already launched by lightdm, the cli install doesn't start the network driver by default but can get a whole 3 node k8s cluster running in under an hour from scratch and forward i3 to a nice, fast, little windows x-server that I got for free with Microsoft reward points.. winning!

So a friend of mine paid someone to develop a website for his business (holiday lets, property management and cleaning) and the developer has started up a competing business taking all the content from his site and other local info sites, holiday let sites ect and putting up them up on his site. Sounds like the guys a bit of a cunt to me giving us a bad name, thoughts?4

So we got the results of our performance review got another fucking 3 again this year, what a fucking piss take, I feel fucking insulted, having to much work to do is not my fault. Oh I haven’t documented something properly because I had to start on something else and something else oh and this is a fucking priority too, talk about feeling unappreciated don’t think I have ever wanted to quit more in the 18 years I’ve worked there. I let the last 3 slide because things suffered while I was off work as my son had an operation but this is just insulting now

I created a repository of react components for bulma, I am pretty happy with the result. Would love to know what people think. The docs and examples here https://grufffta.github.io/react-bu... if you could call them that
-
I have finally finished my React components for Bulma, still work in progress - the styleguide docs are currently repeating depending on the number of files in the folder, but I will fix that soon.
It's here if anyone is interested: https://github.com/grufffta/...2 -
Migrated my .net core 2.1 projects to 2.2 and everything still works, still recovering from the shock2

Swear some people just want you to do their fucking job as well, why the fuck would the connection strings need to change if the code doesn’t even reach that line maybe try looking again right at the top where it prints a message saying what arguments are required and try using them. Come on if your that stuck step through the lines 1 at a time from the start and it will all become blatantly fucking obvious

Got a massive deadline coming up and thought why not add to the pressure and install VsVim as well.
Have to say I was pleasantly surprised, with that and the navigate to feature you don’t need a mouse at all and I barely know vim. :q is so much easier on the hands than ctrl+f4 now if only I could work out a macro to automatically add async modifiers1 -
Just found out my child’s after school care has been cancelled right before the new term, for fucks sake, how about some warning! Fuck knows what to do about work now. Oh and here is a desk10

Does not get paid enough to have my holiday ruined on the first fucking day off, how about setting things up the same way as the ones that work so I don’t have to give up my evening an clear up your fucking mess, again!!

So for fear of starting a flame war which should I learn and go through the hassle of setting up for this superior workflow everyone goes on about... Vim or Emacs?
I need to configure it for dotnetcore, editorconfig, Perl, php, docker, git etc. I work across windows mac and Linux so it would be nice to have an editor that worked the same everywhere. Currently leaning more towards vim as I don’t really know much about Emacs so what’s worth investing my time in?1 -
At the time I had been squatting, arrested, driven 300 miles across country only to be released - mistaken identity with just the clothes on my back. Decided to stay and lined up a couple of interviews. I got offered both but took the one which meant 2 busses and a ferry and 2 hours each way for a data entry position.
They were migrating to a new database and my job was to type it in to a screen so from print outs. Didn’t take long for me to work through that and they were struggling to find stuff for me to do, I mean at one point I was filing paper files. So I saw the 2 it guys doing the same thing with loads of excel files , hours and hours a month just wasted. I wrote a vba excel macro to do it for them at the click of a button and suddenly a position opened up as a junior programmer. Still at the same place 16 years later and were still using software I wrote 15 years ago (.net 1.1) quite happily on win10 surprisingly.
