why don't I remember everything I ever did crystal clear forever?

    because that would require huge amounts of memory for no significant gain.

    it's the same reason why no sane person stores their photos as bitmap anymore.

    I have short-term memory issues (according to my docs) so I have a very good memory ironically since it all has to go to mid/long just don't tell me something when I'm not paying attention - yes even if I respond I won't remember

    Memory is not like a video camera. The brain stores memories very abstractly and when you recall things, the brain reconstructs the memory on demand and fills in the blanks automatically. Which is why it‘s so unreliable.

    Exact memory wasn’t evolutionary necessary.
