Just installed Linux again after the installation finished because I somehow got a typo in the password I set in the beginningof the installation.
It was just quicker than to try hacking around this problem.

    Append init=/bin/bash to kernel command line, mount root filesystem, passwd, done.

    For next time ;)

    @WhAtEvErYoUmEaN To be honest though, I have a sysadmin cert that taught us something similar, and even I would have find it quicker just to reinstall, esp. on a fast SSD (unless there was some fuckery with keeping some files or retrieving files from a backup).

    Sometimes, while you *can*, it doesn't mean it's the most time-effective thing to do.
