Anyone out there ever had to deal with WordPress in Azure? Do you have any horror stories to share? I’m working on convincing a potential BIG client to switch away from Azure and need some good examples of why it’s not as suitable for large-scale hosting and management of multiple WordPress installs as other solutions available.

What could be bad about Azure, it's comparable to AWS and Google Cloud ? On Azure you easilly can have multiple Wordpress instances.

(These articles are from 2014, can't imagine it has gotten with all the new services they added to Azure to make large-scale even easier)

Not to be against OP but I've always found Azure to be soooo easy to use especially when it comes to scalling, its just moving a slider right or left (I had a web service there in my previous job)

Not sure about other solutions like AWS never tried them tbh

I’m sure there are good reasons people have for using Azure depending on their requirements and “kit” as far as how they operate. But every stack has its drawbacks, so I was hoping to see if anyone had experienced any.

To clarify, I’m looking to sell them on Pantheon.io, which is custom tailored hosting for WP and Drupal. With Pantheon containerization, especially at the elite, large enterprise level, scaling is instant and hands-free, with people to do grunt tasks for you and instant support so you can budget those dollars toward features and content instead of staffing high in IT. Also, it has an opinionated yet still flexible scripted devops workflow that makes continuous integration and testing changes before deployment a dream.

@stackodev Azure has some of that, the deciding factor is do you think a switch would make the service of the client better ?

    - performance issues / noisy neighbour
    - privacy concerns
    - bill shock
    - not GDPR complaint by definition

@FilipeRamalho yeah. But I’d need to compare them directly by experience to know for sure.
