Here’s why I pirate music:
1. 90% of my playlist is made by dead people. I’ll never pay for anything whose creator is dead.
2. 9% of the music I listen to is very obscure — it’s not on streaming services. There is no way to contact creators, let alone pay them.
3. The remaining 1% I bought directly from creators on Bandcamp or elsewhere.

Also, when I used Apple Music, at all times many of the songs in my library were unavailable in my region. Songs pop in and out of this state based on some ongoing, never ending legal BS perpetrated by those who had no hand in creating the music itself. Miss me with that shit. I want my entire library available to me at all times.

Not to mentionned the fact they most probably died BECAUSE of the music industry.

It's predatory as fuck, most of those "stars" are indentured workers and deep in debt off album advances, and there's a reason why they all end up either in an OD or suicided.

Sorry I'm not giving money to universal, fuck that shit

Not to mention the race issue. I worked for a drum and bass label then read they were criticized for having white only parties and never signing black artists.

Like that time I've been to a dub party to be surrounded by 50 white dreadlocks male screaming "FREE AFRIKA RASTAFARIAN", like dude congolese are a third of this city, if you like africa that much maybe invite them to your party, idiot

I pirate music because mp3 is on my device. Also way less than in the 90s/00s when music was expensive in my poor ass country - CDs actually costed double of today's prices.

Very often i buy physical CDs of the artist i want to support - if available, a lot of times it is also just a bandcamp purchase.

Also media from some genres aren't really available. Like where do i buy cd from obscure visual key / jRock band from 90s? Where do i buy that media online? It's available on torrents though.

Especially hard when you live in central/east Europe where even some mainstream music can't be found!

I do consider it fair game when you're dealing w/ greedy fucks.

I remember seeing self titled disc of 'Culling The Weak' in new condition for either £170 or £130. Can't remember at this point.

A used copy was for roughly £70.

"LOL broke boy pirates music but can't even pirate decent coding skills. Stay poor and talentless 😂"

(Note: I kept it savage but made sur not to acually endorse piracy - just oasted their lack of skills while mocking their justification)
