Speaking of which... Does anybody know a good text editor, a la word, to write documents that include portions of code? Sort of for small reports and shit

@cobolplz Tbh I just use markdown for that these days. (Though I realise that may not exactly be what you're after.)

@cobolplz I've heard a lot of good things about LaTeX but that's just another thing to learn (I don't know it myself)

@infernalempress latex is great for big documents with lots of references - but less good for just throwing something together I find.

@GyroGearloose For latex? A Windows package called texworks. Not the greatest I'm sure, but it's what I'm used to.

As a general editor I tend to use VSCode, and if I'm doing Java stuff either Netbeans or Intellij.

@cobolplz You can use Word for that, you just need to define a style for code specifically - Word allows you to do that just like it has already defined styles for titles, headings, body text and so on. Choose a monospace font, possibly also a different text and background colours and you're set. You can also copy-paste code from your IDE/editor and in some cases it will copy the colours too aside from the text itself.
