Linux434836yWhat does the logs say?
Usually you can see what is taking long time by pressing f2 during startup.
I've never had that experience with Mint really. -
Lyniven44536yHad an issue like this. If I do not stop docker/compose manually, Linux will take 2 minutes or more to shutdown. (docker is an example, but the one with it happens most often)

cursee165956y@Linux @Jakuho @hash-table thank guys and jaku
So I noticed that the slowness only happens when I restart Mint to boot into W10. Booting into Mint and shutting down is fine.
And thanks to Linux tip, F2 showed me the culprit. It's MySQL community server that is taking damn long to stop.

Curious question to fellow Mint Mate user (if there is any).
Do you experience a long restarting phenomenon with your mint?
I have used this and that distros and windows in the past. I am fond of light and fast things; long time user of xubuntu and lubuntu. Mint saved my ass when I had some display driver issues with my xubuntu. So I have switched to and I have been using it for a while and noticed that sometimes the restarting process can take more than 90 second.
