Windows notepad is starting to get really freaky features.
It will actually show an asterisk in the title bar if you have unsaved changes. So now you won't have to spam Ctrl-S a hundred times more often than you do anyway.

Congratulations.

"Modified indicator: Notepad will now show an asterisk (*) in the title bar before the title of a document to indicate that a document has unsaved changes."

    @Bubbles thanks :)

    I actually appreciate Microsoft putting work into notepad again to ship Windows with a more up to date default editor. But it's funny nonetheless. :D

    Damn... I used to have an AHK script for that... Looks like it's less useful now.

    Wow, notepad got an update?

    @C0D4 it did get a few updates recently starting in mid 2018 I think. Mostly basic things that were missing. Zooming with Ctrl-MouseWheel, Unix and Mac style line endings and something about line numbers in the status bar. I don't remember exactly.

    This one is on the insider's preview at the moment.

    I mean, it’s been a standard feature of other editors for decades. I’m so glad MS is finally catching up!
