@risson we used Zulip at work before switching to Rocket.

Zulip is (was?) really a shitty and bugged chat. It gave us more problems than solutions (to our previous problems 😂)

Did you lose your chat history? Self hosted is the way to go, if services like slack are this unreliable.

@electrineer of course it's not (except it messes your workflow). The sanctions have more of a psychological factor, even if some of the have no financial impact, just humiliating would suffice.

Dont fuck with export control guys. That's there for US government's privacy. Most companies that they work with have to abide by it to prevent exfil of information related to national security, and I wouldn't be surprised if there were some slack groups set up for some military/defense teams.

I doubt its effectiveness too but the law is still there to try and keep national secrets safe.
