    @electrineer actually that just gave me a great idea, what if I'd abuse those wildcards and just add a subdomain real quick? Something like live.nixmagic.com would probably bypass their shitty filtering system. And I mean, if they're gonna be cockheads anyway, I 100% preserve the right to be a cockhead back :3

    Most of those free mail providers allow custom server side filter rules, I have an old gmx.de account that I reroute to my actual one. Of course with the downside of having an intermediary email provider.

    Still a weird practice

    @sergeyBrin @RedPolygon @BurnoutDV @Omnisus @neriald @krz1 @Wombat @erroronline1 @irene @endor @xewl @Lensflare @electrineer

    Had to do a lot of household work today so I couldn't do it earlier, but I've just figured out how to do it. Apparently iRedMail can take mail for subdomains with the following configuration:
    - Add a new MX record in the DNS that's host "live" with value "nixmagic.com" (prioritize lower than your other MX records with a higher number to not confuse other mail servers).
    - In the mail server(s), add the following SQL line to your database.
    use vmail; insert into alias_domain (alias_domain, target_domain) values ('live.nixmagic.com', 'nixmagic.com'); quit;
    That way the mail server will redirect the mail of the subdomain to your regular domain's mailbox(es).

    (and if you didn't catch my drift yet, this does double duty as documentation for me in the future :P)

    Let's see if the registration with something like SomePissedOffSysOp@live.nixmagic.com works now :3

    Oh, one more vile anti-feature I've just noticed: "The password you entered is of invalid length. Please enter a password between 6 and 32 characters."

    I guess that password hashing isn't too important, right? Ain't nobody got time fo' that!

    Anyway, I guess it worked!

    "Thank you for registering on RaidForums, PissedOffSysOp. To complete your registration, please check your email for account activation instructions. Until you activate your account you may not be able to post on these forums"

    You can bet your ass RaidForums that I will, you cheeky bastards :v
