retoor130417h@Lensflare The idea has some flaws, many projects don't support a donation method I guess, so how to spread money towards them. You should contact them all and offer some kind of donation service making them able to receive the donation. While it's all very realistic, it's just a bunch of work. I can also imagine that it's often hard to fine the real responsible person for certain projects.

TrayKnots61915hIt's a great idea. You could make money off of it. Let's say you pay out donations once every three month. In the mean time it collects on your account. Just write in your EULA that the interests belong to you and that this is how you finance the service.
Short term stock trading might be another option while being the money.
Obv. let a lawyer look over it, not to violate some embazlement laws. -
YourMom122915h@TrayKnots music industry oversells concerts by like 50 to 100 percent. So its like a lottery to go to the concert. Then takes 90 days to refund people who didn't go. They make money on the interest in those 90 days. So people do this on purpose for this purpose.

I have again an idea how NOT to get rich. A donation site that will spread your donation amongst every common used open source library. High level stuff many times have some donation system. But the low level stuff what everyone is relying on barely afaik. I would like this system bevause you can have a big influence with just ten dollar or so what means every project ten cents or whatsoever.
