    Alphabet:
    Revenue: 110 Billion US-Dollar (2017) Employees: 85.050 (31. März 2018)

    Mozilla:
    Revenue: US$562.3 million (2017)
    Employees.: 1000+

While Alphabet spans - of course - not only the browser developing but an insane number of subsidiaries and so on... Just looking at the numbers one should realize that Mozilla did a very good job.

Just going to pop in and say, I've been using Firefox for the while and love it. Its performant wise, fast, works great when having multiple tabs open and extremely web friendly.

I see that Chromium has changed their design, it does look amazing tbh. But still, under the hood its the same.

@IntrusionCM alphabet is a public trade company.
    Mozilla is a nonprofit organisation.
Large corporate becomes more greedy and will do anything to please shareholders.
    Take a look at blizzard...
Revenue is the opposite to fair and privacy

@sunfishcc Totally doesn't have to be, but often is. This is why hiring and promoting are the two most important things to get right -- and the two things most often done very very wrong.

Good news is Google Chrome is starting to kill adblockers so perhaps Mozilla will gain some ground in that wake

@sunfishcc I just compared two companies by their revenue. And - bssed on these facts - Mozilla does a good job.

And revenue is - in this case - just a way to compare the total amount of money gained from it's products and services. Nothing more, nothing less.

    @FrodoSwaggins

Mozilla struggled quite a long time in my opinion as they had the right ideas (Rust, Servo as an example) but needed time to develop these ideas.

But I think that Chrome digs it's own grave. There were already quite a few disturbing changes, but the last ones (www drop, auto login chrome, development of new interfaces which prevent usage of UBlock and others) make it very clear that Chrome goes the same way IE did... And WE know what happened to IE. XD

When FF was a thing, Mozilla started thinking they could fuck their users. That's why FF isn't a thing anymore. Mozillassholes.
