Yeah, it happened (almost). Google was once suspicious that Bing is internally using them. They found a query that returned no results in both Google and Bing. Then they created a fake search result for that query and hardcoded it so that Google would return it. After some time Bing started returning it as a result too. https://wired.com/2011/02/...
