    If they aren't asking you questions along the lines of

    "so you know/use/are familiar with xyz tool/framework/language/tech? What are some things you hate about it. Tell me some stories about times you had to deal with painpoints?"

    ..chances are they don't know what to ask, and hired people who weren't qualified. People you'll have to work with.

    Developers that KNOW their shit, beyond rote homework and interview-prep (looking at all the codecamp monkeys), will have some stories to tell. Will know enough about their tools to know what they like and what crops up enough to be a headache..which is important, because if anything can go wrong, it will, and being familiar enough to know these painpoints is usually a good indicator the developer will be experienced fixing them too.

    @Wisecrack yes, the best question to give to dev about their tools is what do they think the weakness is, that’s how they proof they have been using it a lot
