I don't have Windows pro at home pc. So I can't run Docker. In the same time I don't wanna spend 200 bucks for the Pro. People say Docker Toolbox is a pain in the ass. Next option is run Docker on an Ubuntu VM. This is so annoying......

@devTea Having dual boot is not my cup of tea. I do .net core stuff and I prefer to do it in windows. I can an run it on linux later.

@KAS89 working with servers from Windows is really nice now because of built in SSH, yeah, no need to jump through hoops anymore.

I'm heard from a guy that there was a way to get Windows LTSC in the harbour.

Virtualbox + Linux OS of choice + docker inside that = no need for pro.

@KAS89 DigitalOcean and Vultr are cheaper than AWS, if you're going in that direction.

Why is docker a requirement in the first place then? Honestly curious

@bittersweet oh really. Thanks for letting me know. Didn't know they existed.

@kzisme well, I'm learning Docker and Kubernetes. We are moving to Azure and I wanted to be up to date. Plus its a good tool for your belt.

@garret You don't wanna dive into the problems that arise from that. Windows starts doing weird things after a few months.

@beggarboy As an ex Microsoft employee, I can inform you that Windows starts doing weird things after a few months regardless of license / genuine status.

@bittersweet My sanity thanks you endlessly for confirming I did not imagine things.

@beggarboy It's an official feature, we worked hard on that. I'm especially proud of the notification popups during fullscreen gaming sessions, automatic reboots when you're on the toilet, the amazing bing ads on the lock screen and the superior quality of Windows apps in the Microsoft store. Still brings tears to my eyes.

@bittersweet as a current Microsoft partner i can tell you that windows does not require a couple of months to start being weird

@seraphimsystems shhh I don't want to worry @beggarboy too much.
