How to deny a "friend" who is asking me to lend some money ( what he is asking is the largest anyone ever have asked me )?

What's the social etiquette here?

P.S:
I don't have good impression about him.

Few weeks ago, i changed my plans for him so that he could tag along with me to a place quite far away to apply for our course certificate . He delays the plan, not doing what he was supposed to do and had told me he would do.

I end up wasting 3 days waiting on him and finally goes on my own ( how it was supposed to be before I offered him free ride in the first place )

I don't like people who can't keep their words or let alone lie or don't tell you if they are not intending on keeping it.

Now I'm amazed by his nerve to ask money like that.

    "Sorry but no". You don't need an excuse, they're asking you for a favor.

    You don't owe him anything, just say "sorry, I can't help you." or even better, don't apologize as it ain't your problem 🙃 if he expects it, that's on him.

    Literally just be like "nah broski" and leave it at that.

    Theres like 3 friends I'd lend money to bc I know they'd do it for me.

    After that? Nah fam. You ain't getting shit from me lol

    Do we speak about 10, 100 or 1000 $??

    @schug shit I've got friends I wouldn't give $10 tbh lmao

    @Stuxnet same tbh. I have a friend who "is going to pay next time" that owes me like 20 coffee dates at this point 🤔🙄 starting to think it's never going to be her turn to pay, lol.

    @schug it's over $100. And it's a pretty big amount for me lend to a distant friend who previously failed to keep his word.

    @irene they're 10/10 when it comes to hanging out, talking to them (texting, over a call or in person), and they keep everything between us like I ask.

    Their fiscal responsibility is just shit lol
