C0D4681386yDuckDuckGo for the most part, although I do find the need to still use google when DDG can’t find the answers I’m looking for.
-
-vim-31686yI use duckduckgo, because it respects my private data well enough while providing tons of functionality, like !bangs (obsolete with firefox search keywords, but nice on platforms where you can’t do that), instant answers, secure search, etc.

Creep16836y@-vim- I tried ddg. The only thing I miss are googles built-in features like the color picker, translater and stock market charts.
-
C0D4681386y@-vim- I tend to just use !g. But hmm startpage seems like a good idea. Based on their privacy stance.
-
-vim-31686y@Creep With duckduckgo, if you prepend your search with !deepl, it will redirect your search to deepl which is (imo) better than google translate for sentences and long texts. For single words, use !lin for linguee. There’s also a built-in color picker
-
Creep16836y@C0D4 I just checked it again and I have to admit that the color picker looks even better than googles color picker. I have no idea how I missed that. Well, DDG here I come! Thanks mate :)

Duckduckgo and searx.
Duckduckgo for its features and respecting user privacy and searx because one can self host it and I do this as well.
I can't access Google due to DNS level blocking :) -
@-vim- If you prefer Privacy over search results go for it, Google uses your data for your benefit, It doesn't sell anything
-
DuckDuckGo is shit for 2 reasons, It doesn't give the best search results and it's only feature is bragging about privacy and humiliating Google. If it really wants to compete, improve what it is intended to do ie. Provide better search results
