I think my coding hobby has become an addiction. I literally pulled off two all-nighters for a personal project and a university exercise which is due in 2 days (so I had plenty of time).

    you hust want to avoid the discomfort that this uni assignment gives you because of fear of judgement?

    This is called loss aversion.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...

    "loss aversion refers to people's tendency to prefer avoiding losses to acquiring equivalent gains: it is better to not lose $5 than to find $5."

    @heyheni I don't think so, it just goes like: 18:00 "let's do this!" *Opens editor
    22:00 "This is taking a bit longer than I expected"
    2:00 "Come on! I've got to finish this! I can't stop right now..."
    6:00 *dead inside* "I'm done, let's go to sleep now"
    ...
    7:00 *browses devrant lol*

    @heyheni

    loss aversion also applies to 'losing face.'

    People will avoid asking for things they want or need for fear of rejection.

    But if they get past the bullshit, most people find out the only real loss is loss of life, limb, and money. Everything else is just the clutter in their headspace.

    I have the opposite problem: I fuck up whenever I get success because I'm terrified that I'm a phony and people will see through it.

    Those who don't know, fear.

    And isn't ironic, those who know, end up fearing anyway.
