New on the job. Got assigned to a project a former employee didn't finish, thousands of lines of code with barely any comments or uninsightful comments.

Is this what being a developer is like?

If you are working in an Agency then yes, that's how it is, always that, always shit code no comments barely any unit tests, client panics like goddamn a kid who though he saw a monster.

Unless that agency has good management then no, things will be organized, properly implemented and you never see the damn client.

It happened on my first job only the rest are always like this, no comments, shit planning, people panic for no reason, and low satisfaction.

If you don't like it there, move on don't waste your precious time in that company, find a better organized one or you'll get old early
