okwebdev229yWhile I do like slack, the ability to do the something from slack why would I come back or why is this not just not a channel {or whatever they are called} in slack?
-
Since I use slack for work, I'd personally like to keep both delegate - however I know others might feel different

dfox428279yThe idea here would be for a devRant user to install the slackbot in a slack channel they are a part of. Then, anyone in the channel could interact with the bot and everyone sees the rants that get returned. If anyone has ever used the Seinfeld bot, you give it a keyword and it returns a gif from a Seinfeld episode that has that keyword.

dfox428279yI like the idea in general because it allows devRant content to really be shared more outside of devRant. I would think of it as a sharing method. It's not so you can browse devRant in slack, but rather you can have fun/quirky moments with your co-workers or whoever is in your channel over some devRant content. Thoughts?

@dfox I think it's a great idea. Having a more dev-centric version of something like the Gify integration on Slack is a welcome addtion.

Great shout! And it might even have some good use in putting things into perspective for younger devs who think the company's problems are entirely unique. I.e 'I bet they don't have this issue at other companies!!'.

'You were saying?' -
@dfox is right, its more a means of sharing content with your peers. I have a working prototype but it's a little way off release.

One idea was a slack bot, would you use it and what commands would you use?
