You're lying if you say mechanical keyboards are better. They're ridiculous.

Depends if you are comparing them to POS butterfly keyboards or not.

Takes bit of time getting used to the feel, but once you go mechanical everything else feels inferior.

At least that was my experience.

Non-mechs feel like garbage by comparison.

I don't buy it. Too loud and clunky for me, boys.

    @odite

Well, if you don't prefer it, then obviously nobody else possibly could.

Yes mechanicals are great i also love having to press down a key for 3 fucking meters

@bahua I obviously don't think people are lying. Said out of spite because I can't enjoy something 😅

@ganjaman my mechanical keyboard triggers after 1.5mm. If you get used to the feeling you don't even press the keys down to the bottom anymore. Your statement is invalid.

@ShotgunSurgeon how does getting used to a physical fact make it invalid
  • 3
"pressing down a key for 3 fucking meters" and 1.5mm which is less than most rubber dome keyboards and even this shitty scissor switches.

and of course mechanical keyboards are just a preference.

I like them for the sound. Makes me feel all l337 and shit

I did not like it at first but now I cannot live without one. The biggest advantage for me is that every key needs the exact same pressure to be pressed. Normal keyboards often gets "stuck" so the pressure needed is suddenly different and boom...you missed a letter. Of course, if you do not bang keys like with hammer :)

Some mentioned mistakes about mecanical keyboards:
    - they are loud.
No, they can be loud but so can rubber domes.
    - you have to press them really far.
Not any further than a rubber dome keyboard and there are even laptops with mechanical keys.

Sorry, can't hear you over my mx blue switches!

I switch between the two. I actually have two keyboard plugged into my main desktop, and one of them hides under my desk at all times. At night, or when I am in a call with someone, I will use my second keyboard, which has soft, inaudible keys. When I am gaming (and not in voice chat), or just feel like typing with additional feedback, I use the mechanical keyboard. The additional feedback per key press is great for stuff like gaming and inputting commands (where typos can be costly)

But that is, of course, just my preference.

I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of my 1920s typewriter.

    Filthy casuals.

Love my mechanical keyboard, especially for gaming, but the girlfriend hates it late at night haha
