Root797276yEvery time I try to open a jpg in firefox, debian wants to launch IE via wine to open it. Haven't succeeded in fixing this yet. 😡
-
@Root ik a solution:
Use Windows aka the best got dang OS there is, I tell you what.
(Read that in a Hank Hill voice to get the full effect. Makes it 10x better in my opinion lol)

roger1086yyeah, that behavior is annoying.. you can fix that behavior: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.ph...
-
I also hate that behavior, it even got to the point that xdg-open failed opening a jpg.

740027566y@electrineer: It comes with Wine by default if I'm not mistaken. At least I don't think I have deliberatly installed it.

It would seem that all OSs suffer from "default application-itis"
I've never used MacOS but I assume that's probably fucked in it's own way too.
Sigh. This again.
We have Windows users complaining all the time about having their settings reset for each update. Then again, I don't remember default applications on Linux not breaking as soon as you are looking the other way. Why do I have to clarify that I don't want to open text files in LTSpice, or that nobody should ever want to launch first Wine, then Chromium for every PDF file?
