This is a post to congratulate a certain developer.
Mortal kombat 11 has had a rough start. First people found out it used denuvo, then people were mad that there were microtransactions (all items are obtainable trough gameplay and they are only kosmetic) then there was some kontroversy about a certain character saying something political. After that people tried playing the new towers of time mode. And it was fucking hard. Way too hard. And you know what netherrealm did? (I'm looking at you bungie you filthy pieces of shit) they said they were going to look into it and they gave everyone a huge amount of every currency. That is how you apologize. Aspiring game developers, take note.

    What was the political thing they said?

    @Stuxnet a black character said he would use his newfound time altering powers to prevent the slave trade in africa. Hey it seems ok to me.

    @Alice does the snap double my resources or delete half of them?

    @fuck2code that's controversial?

    Fuck off man if you're offended by that, you're a 🤡

    @Stuxnet honk honk

    Eh the argument i heard was that there shouldn't be any politics in games and that's a fair point.

    Game devs dont handle PR in huge corporations. Stop blaming them. Very often they are overworked and pressured to make stupid shit.

    I’m still miffed that NRS took a stance against big titties. :< At least I get to save 60 bux.

    @Gregozor2121 bungie is great when it comes to the sense of community but they refuse to change one small aspect of the game that is a huge pain in the ass for everyone

    @monzrmango you talking about this?

    So games shouldn't have politics but politics can meddle in games...

    How about you let games do what they want. It's just entertainment. If somethings offending you simply don't buy it/play it.

    @fuck2code XD sorry that wasn't targeted at you. I meant the constant shit thrown at games by society. Whether it's being too violent or too sexual and what not.

    It's just a game. A work of fiction. It's pretty easy to just ignore it and not play it. Unless it's very blatantly promoting hate towards someone or a group or something I don't think it's that big of a deal ya know.

    Hum... The total cost for the micro transactions was around $6,600 though. Some being "almost" mandatory since the game was made around them.

    I would not be as kind as you are to companies like this. They got caught red-handed and only dealt like this to minimise the damage.

    @Jilano oh yah the microtransactions are expensive but I don't find then obtrusive at all. I didn't even know they existed until my friend told me.
  • 4
    @Jilano How do you even manage to cram $6000+ worth of MTX into one game o.o what were they smoking...
  • 4
    @codefromsaturn Probably money. There is a reason game studios fire lots of devs and other community managers, but not that many from the marketing department.
  • 4
    @Jilano Ahh yes. The marketing and business fiends. I stay away from them

    @fuck2code being against slavery is offensive now? Dangit, I just got used to giving up slavery altogether and now this!
