Does anyone else get crippling fear anytime your boss wants a 1 on 1 meeting?

I always assume I'm getting fired and panic over it..even though so far that's never happened.

Even though I know it's an irrational fear..I can't help it.

@irene I don't think I should be. My work is good and on time...

    But it's still a fear.

@irene I'm not sure. It just gets into my head anytime I see the calendar invite.

Both times I've had that feeling I've been made redundant so.. that's why I went freelance 😂

I used to because my boss acted bipolar. He was either in a great mood and decided my work was acceptable, or he would accuse me of freaking everything. The only time he would back off is when I would get angrier than he.

After awhile I couldn't take it anymore and quit, leaving him without a dev "team."

I can sympathize; I also assume the worst in these situations.

@Root @erandria me too! It's not a new feeling either.

I just don't know how to overcome it.

Not really since the company needs me more than I need them 😉

If I want a 1on1 with my boss it's getting expensive for him...

I get this exact same thing, and it onlt got worse when one time it happened and I was actually fired for no reason. :/
