Sounds like a good idea until you hear something really chilled out like paulo nautini followed by slayer from a sysadmin
-
@yarwest when you see Korean (I guess) in the title and are like "wtf does that even mean"
-
yarwest26658y@Minzkraut challenge: listen every song to the end, it might not seem like your shit right away, most of it wasn't for me when I first heard it either. But certain ones certainly have their beautiful parts. Otherwise you can always toss it all away :) I don't mind either way. I just hope someone discovers something new and enjoys it.
-
anasmy1678yI only use Spotify when I'm driving because radios nowadays only streams gibberish and repeats songs. Might share my playlist as well later
-
There is a public playlist with the soundtrack of Civilization IV. Fits the developing bill perfectly!
-
yarwest26658y@Minzkraut I'm done for now, gotta study, let me know what you think and if you want more ;)
-
yarwest26658yI mean, in my humble opinion the list is great so far :) already copied it in case people want to remove certain stuff (which you should totally do, I don't mind at all and I can fully understand that some stuff isn't what you are looking for)
-
@yarwest I'm not going to remove anything, and I think everything should stay in case someone cones by who really finds something he loves. I'm only 10 songs in so far but there's already songs that made it into my private favorite list.
Thanks -
@yarwest There is no truly good programming song list without "push it to the limits"
-
yarwest26658ymy avatar isn't a complete fantasy, both beard and tats (tho a bit smaller) are present. just putting that out there.. :p
-
@yarwest weeellll, it also mentions my age in the bio, so the image is the least of advantages [laughing emoji]
-
yarwest26658y@Minzkraut I'm going to blame the black and white :p sorry, didn't mean any offence ._.
-
@yarwest It's not only that, it has been altered by "Prisma" quite a lot. That app is really good at making absolutely everything look old.
-
yarwest26658y@Minzkraut did you get to the harder stuff? I'm curious what people think of bands like Ice Nine Kills and Beartooth
-
@yarwest Yeah I actually got to it... and it's pretty convenient because I can't get distracted from songs where I can't understand wth they're singing ;)
I do like some of them -
mamm0th28yHave people had much luck with getting started with Spotify's Android SDK? I have followed the tutorial pretty well and cannot get my app to authenticate for the life of me. I have premium and I am logged in on my phone.
-
yarwest26658y@ElCapitan HELL YES this is the result I'm looking for :D glad you enjoy it dude, I blast that stuff all the time.
I mean, they do say 'the less you associate yourself with beartooth lyrics, the less depressed you are'
with they being me :p
oh well -
yarwest26658y@ElCapitan thats exactly what I thought when my friend introduced me to it. It kinda grew on me later because of him. Let me know if you need some more stuff :)
-
matsj728y@Minzkraut it's hard (or not possible) to see in the app. You gave me a smile on the bus home from work! Thanks!
-
yarwest26658y@ElCapitan aight so it took me a bit to find stuff but, it seems that the most recent album from Attack Attack! is very beartooth-esque https://youtube.com/playlist/...
The band Stick to Your Guns also has a number of songs that share the same style.
On top of that I found something new :) Mongolian Folk Metal, the band is called Tengger Cavalary. It's crazy but I think the mix of old and new really works great. Especially in this song:

Does anyone here use Spotify? I'd love to make a shared list where people put their favorite songs for developing in.
