If you develop a iOS app you'll need a Mac. And on Mac you can run pretty anything you'll need to develop for windows. (with virtualbox)

MacOS is real nice for the un*x environment.

Windows (imo) has a really ugly way to manage everything

@DevMike since it's just OSX vs Windows I'm gonna go with Windows honestly just because I have a lot more experience with it. Naturally this is based on my experience and what I do.

It's a great all-rounder, OOTB experience, running it on an SSD makes it pretty damn r e s p o n s i v e (updates are a non-issue), and it supports everything from scientific to gamedev to webdev just fine, and WSL means you don't lose out on Linux goodies (not to mention the upcoming improvements to WSL). Workflow is quite fast with stuff like AutoHotkey or if you use an IDE, plus many dev tools are fairly cross platform these days. Plus, non dev stuff wise it probably has the best support (gaming, other software etc.) and you're not locked to a single vendor's sometimes questionable hardware choices.
