A quote that I live by:

"Make it work. Make it right. Make it fast."

Unless your workplace is shit. If it's the case, I replace it with "No fucks given."

Shit man sorry to hear. Programming's not supposed to be like that. You work on existing excuses for applications or do you at least get to work on new stuff?

    You may pick two.

@johnjardin codebase is shit, we don't follow any kind of a design pattern whatsoever, since they just let me do whatever I want (I didn't have any experience prior to this job). I get to make new features sometimes, but, again, it's all up to me. I never get very clear specifications.

Your quote is nice. I live by this quote:
"Buy it, use it, break it, fix it, trash it, change it, mail, upgrade it
Charge it, point it, zoom it, press it, snap it, work it, quick erase it
Write it, cut it, paste it, save it, load it, check it, quick rewrite it
Plug it, play it, burn it, rip it, drag it, drop it, zip - unzip it
Lock it, fill it, call it, find it, view it, code it, jam, unlock it
Surf it, scroll it, pause it, click it, cross it, crack it, switch, update it
Name it, read it, tune it, print it, scan it, send it, fax, rename it
Touch it, bring it, pay it, watch it, turn it, leave it, stop, format it

Good, fast and cheap. Choose two.

@bryceleo Easy. Money is virtual, so that leaves: Good and Fast.

When you guys say fast, do you mean the application should be fast, or you should finish working on it fast?

Sadly, in the real world, one's lucky to get it working and slightly right. The 3rd is usually a myth. I'm lucky to be in a position to enforce all 3. It comes with a price most of the time. #overtime

@burswag I meant the application and user experience.

@Yeah69 if you wrote that by heart you're my new hero.

    @dovipas I'm pretty sure that's a song 😆

"there are a hundred ways to do it, but there is only one way to do it right"

@dovipas I have to disappoint you. Copy and pasted it like a real lazy developer.
