vane112805yI work from home so 24 hours a day I stretch my mind by doing nothing so I can be productive and fresh when people need me.
They usually don’t and I am happily paid for it. -
At good days 6-7 hours with noice cancelling headphones and the pomodoro timer. On bad days 2-3.
pomodoro helps me a lot -
If I'm suitably motivated and in the right frame of mind, I can do well over 8 hours of sustained, good work a day.
That's a rarity though, and not sustainable.
At my worst, probably around 3-4 hours or so. -
Depends how invested i am in the project... If its something i really wanna do, then its 8+hours, if it's mind-numbing garbage, 3 hours at the most.

@vane I have some weeks exactly as you describe. Others I just can't even go to the toilet

How many hours of actual productive work do you devs average a day? Honestly, I think I average about 2 hours of honest, good work in my 8 hour day. Between random meaningless meetings that could be emailed out or just daily distractions (coworkers chatting, my phone, etc). Am I alone in this?
