Could you imagine if all manuals were written like novels? Would be chaos.
"It was a dark and stormy night. Platypus was getting ready to create a PowerPoint presentation. Nervously, she edged the mouse towards the File menu---her inexperience depriving her of the clinical efficient of Alt-F." -
"What Orwell failed to predict is that we'd buy the cameras ourselves, and that our biggest fear would be that nobody was watching."
-
@sbiewald We now need personal cameras to protect ourselves from the government. Second amendment should enshrine our right to bear lenses.
-
@platypus that's actually a brilliant idea. People would actually read the manual for once.
-
@irene Platypus' Law---Any narrative, if continued long enough, will develop a pornographic twist.

galena71925y@platypus Kennedy watched eagerly the hot toaster glazing his bread in a thin crust. Awaiting the momement the bread would fling out of it. Giving him the perfect basis for is early breakfast.
He knew the metal surface on top of it was hot. Not to burn his fingers he thought about using a fork to pick out his delicious meal. But having read the novel that came with the toaster he knew this was a bad idea.
So slightly burnt fingers JFK sat down to eat. He had picked up an interesting Manual yesterday and started to read it whilst devouring his warm breakfast. -
@JFK422 Now we just need to translate them badly to 16 different languages, add some unintelligible diagrams, and we have a shippable product.

Fully agree with you! 1984 is the guide to real life. I have recently completed the paper on this subject for one of my college assignments, and here at https://gradesfixer.com/free-essay-... I got the sample of 1984 analysis, maybe it will be useful for someone here. There are so many concepts discussed in this reading that will surprise everyone with its reality.
Im getting a small feeling 1984 isnt a novel but a manual!
